Oslo
All first impressions of the city are directly related to the opera house. you cannot bypass it; even now they are building an overhead road at the highway upon entering the city which will present visitors with an amazing panoramic view to the bay and its pearl in the middle – The Oslo Opera House.
there is a large boulevard between the old part of Oslo and the coastal line and there are several pedestrian bridges that cross over it which allow you to go across without any problems and enjoy the sight of their national treasure at the same time:

there is this humorous inscription that greets you first thing on the bridge on your way to the top of the white mountain:

and up we go:

this one is my favorite:

it has a really strange feel to it, actually; it’s like a natural hillside (really strange)

WHITE!!!
I associated it with salt-cellars at first
and then… hmmm… it was more of a thought – what a cool place! a busy spot, filled with people which is quite unusual for an opera house to say the least.
and the white stuff, believe it or not, is marble:

everything is made of marble – bush-hammered, polished, in lines, curved for the railing sections… good stonemasons
there is no trace of a raised floor; even the gutters of the platform are carved in the marble. and so are the benches:

we enter the mountain:

perhaps I have already said everything I could possibly say about this interior whenever I have come close to Nordic architecture where natural materials (white marble and solid oak wood in this case) are honored as they well deserve.
the rest, again, speaks for itself:

while making the previous shot, an acute angle caught my attention and made me turn around:

the hood over the entrance is, apparently, hanging from the ceiling

a few details for dessert… less is more, again 🙂

I think Snohetta’s award is well deserved!

всички първи впечатления от града са пряко свързани с операта. не можеш да я подминеш – дори в момента строят естакада на магистралата при подхода към града, която, когато е готова, ще отваря уникална панорама за всеки новопристигащ към залива и перлата в средата му – The oslo opera house.
между старата част на Осло и бреговата ивица минава голям булевард, над който са издигнати пешеходни мостове – хем да пресечеш безпрепятствено, хем да се насладиш на новото им национално богатство:

по мостчето – и върху бялата планина. първо те посреща този забавен надпис:

тази ми е любима:

всъшност усещането е много особено – като за естествен хълм (много странно)

БЯЛ!!!
първата ми асоциация беше за солници
втората …. хммм … вече беше мисъл – баси и якото място! оживено и пълно с хора, което като цяло за сграда на опера е меко казано неестествено.
а бялото е – believe it or not – мрамор:

всичко е от мрамор – бучардисан, полиран, на лентички, обработен в крива за парапета… добри каменоделци 🙂
няма и помен от повдигнат под – дори канавките по площадката са улеи, издълбани в мрамора. пейките също:

влизаме в планината:

сигурно всичко, което бих могла да кажа за този интериор, вече съм го казвала при предишните си съприкосновения със северняшка архитектура, където естествените матеряли – в случая бал мрамор и масивен дъб – са на заслужена почит.

при правенето на предишната снимка един остър ъгъл привлече вниманието ми е ме накара да се обърна:
