Dear friends,

It is time to bring to your attention our new, bigger, and updated store from the FANTASTICO chain in Studentski Grad (a neighborhood in Sofia). We hope that some of you might have already seen it live and we strive to motivate the rest with this post to visit it in person 🙂

Besides the usual functional space, shaped in the signature style of the chain, here we have a few more specific areas.

We have a spacious COSMETICS area that makes you feel as if you are not in a regular store. Instead, you can make your choice in a tranquil and luxurious atmosphere, separated from the remaining space of the commercial hall.

The store has a rich organic products area, a new element that posed a huge challenge to us. We hope you like the result 🙂

We also have a wonderful cafeteria where you can relax from the exhausting shopping in a nice and friendly atmosphere.

Enough talking, let’s get in!

so dreaming it is…

Posted: December 21st, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: fun | No Comments »

Sooooo…dreaming it is…
I have always dreamed about living in the wild. Due to some strange circumstances, I seem to be quite close to this dream, perhaps even too close. And so, my dream home is the one I live in at present actually. But… it is in a different world; a world in which people don’t have to work to make a living but rather live in order to work on themselves.
I reach my house via a dirt road. I don’t have neighbors throughout most of the year. Some people stay at the nearby houses for the summer but I perceive them as tourists. The only people who live on that street is us and the man with the goats whose name is still unknown. So far so good…I am not too much of a people’s person anyway, however, sometimes late at night, when there is a storm, the thought that there really is nobody around haunts me… So in this line of thought, I am going to need a troll. Trolls are made of stone and they are not really mobile so mine will be a focal point in the garden. And since it is made of stone, no harm could come to it, so it will always be available for our protection. Hence, we will never need a fence or a security system installed. Whenever it is not busy staying on guard and it feels bored, it can chop up wood for the fireplace. And we are going to send it to collect the wood from the forest while taking the dog for a walk at the same time.

The material of the future or the sense of a dream

The dream is all-encompassing; it is in the middle of nowhere and in the eye of the hurricane at the same time.

Living room interior design project

It all began with a bunch of furniture items made of paper, cardboard and foil… well, and a bunch of ideas which had no way of coexisting in one and the same living room at the same time.

dream-home

Posted: December 11th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: fun | No Comments »

And so… we turn off the lights, take a look at the stars through the window of our apartment (a dream come true :)) and we begin dreaming… about the dream-home…

The first question that comes to mind is “where is it?”. It is in a quiet place, away from the noise of the city but still, close enough. There are not many neighbors around or at least this is the feeling that you get there. It is hanging over a woodland steep slope while the city’s never sleeping living organism is below us…

Dream Home (Lili :)

And so, it is now my dream’s turn. And it is… on a desert island atop of large cliff overlooking the sea. You can see the lights of the megapolis on the opposing shore perfectly from there and the endless open sea is on the other side.
The house itself resembles a hangar although a very modern one! :D. I don’t want any walls inside it. A few columns in the right places and the right sizes will do. The inside space should allow for everything to be open and visible plus, whenever needed, there can be folding doors that divide the space into separate rooms. The wings of my enormous folding doors and the columns exist in symbiosis and when the doors are open they coincide with the columns.

The different areas inside the house are situated on separate levels that differ by 2 or 3 steps. For sure there will be an eclectical fit between old and new. Everything will be in the nuances of white with a few garish colors here and there as well as solid wood, naturally.

There will be no furniture in the living room, only an old solid wood table and some ultra-modern chairs, a lot of empty space and light.

The bedroom! Yep, it is going to have a glass ceiling. I want to look at the stars when I go to sleep. Whenever the weather is bad and there are no stars, there will be real time multimedia show from an observatory on the ceiling and I will watch the planets turn. There will be a shading system there during the day. There will be a slightly avangard net behind the wall; I still have no idea what exactly but there will be something… My office will be right next to the bedroom, so that I can watch my sleeping partner while I am having an outburst of inspiration by night… There will be a large bookcase in the office. A small part of it will be painted pink and it will house all of my favorite math problem books! There will also be a special space for my samples; they are a part of me, carrying along so much history and being the heart and soul of each project…

But let’s get back to the bedroom, or, more precisely, the bathroom next to it! As a matter of fact, I am going to have 10 bathrooms: one for each day of the week and a few extra for the holidays. Now I will tell you about the one by the bedroom only. I will have a shower and a bathtub close to my bed. There will be no shower booth, glass walls, etc. The floor will be a grid made of solid wood and there will be creeping plants, 🙂 something like a natural jungle, therefore.

The house will have one more really special place. This is the veranda! I want it to be modern one with a hammock. I have no idea how the veranda idea fits into the hangar one but if it could also be hanging over the sea, this would make it perfect!

Speaking of which, I have to clarify that all railings need to be broad enough, so that I could sit and walk on them. The window sills also need to be broad enough for sitting purposes.

I think I will not bore you with my dream home any more although I can talk about it for days.
I would like to thank Cityscape and INDESIGN for their invitation! Your initiative is great!

All the best!

Yours,
Lili

“A Non-Architectural Dream Home” with an extraordinarily important yard (and bathroom) :)

We really liked the idea for this project because it somehow demands you to put into words and images the tons of ideas that you have accumulated in the “perfect home” category over the years. The truth is, there is no way to achieve having this dream home without imagining it first. Thanks for the invitation (you have no idea what you’re getting into)!

Thanks indeed. No good deed goes unpunished!

a small dream of a small person…

Posted: November 7th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: fun | No Comments »

I put a lot of effort into not reading all of the other stories about dream homes because I did not want to have a lot of overlapping ideas. Well… I manage to resist the temptation but perhaps this is exactly why there will be overlapping ideas. 😀 Anyway, whatever comes… fortune favors the brave, SO HERE WE GO!!!

I dream in stages. I dream of things I would like to have in the present moment with a few cracks for letting in dreams of the future when my personal family unit is bigger and in a different configuration :). And since a person is as big as his/her dreams are, I will tell you what I dream about right now. Of course, I already have several dream homes which find it difficult to coexist. One of them is a biiig, really big house that can accommodate the entire extended family, including brother, sisters, their husbands and children. This would make it really useful during the holidays but perhaps it will feel quite empty the rest of the time. The other dream is concerns my own dream home that I will tell you about now.

I dream of a small wooden cottage with a lot of insulation and huge windows looking south. I don’t know if you have already guessed but these huge windows have to be looking at a breathtaking view: snow-covered mountain peaks, forests and streams. It is a cottage but it will still have two floors. You enter the ground floor with all the extras there are to a decent entrance (more precisely a wardrobe or some other space for coats, shoes and keys) and then on to the living room. The kitchen table is close to the door and you can easily leave all of the groceries on it. There is also a kitchenette and a sofa in this living room. The sofa has to be right next to the fireplace which is really close to the façade, so that I can take tree logs directly from under the shed in the yard. I suppose there could be some clever way to avoid having to go out for wood in the cold winter days but we will leave it for the planning stage. I imagine that everything is small and compact with some empty space between the groups of units. And the materials used are primarily solid wood and colorful sofas, preferably made of cotton or wool. Maybe I am forgetting some service rooms that a house cannot go without (a bathroom, a closet, etc.) but they tend to be parts of any well-functioning house, not particularly a dream home. Still, we will find some room for them as well.

There is a large veranda on this floor looking at the yard with a wooden swing for two and perhaps a small jacuzzi with mineral water. And in the yard, there would be fruit trees, lawn area and a well thought-out combination of flowers, designed to bloom all year long. There could also be a vegetable plot hidden among the flowers. There are no neighbors…unless you call neighbors the old couple some 4 kilometers away from the house :D… But there is still a big, hairy dog that digs up holes between the flowers :).

The bedroom is the only thing on the second floor (including a bathroom, of course) but now that I think about it, the bedroom is quite big. If there are night tables on both sides of the double bed and then there are the two doors (one to the stairs and one to the bathroom) and if there are also wardrobes along the two sides of the room, that would make a wall length of about 6 meters. Naturally, the bedroom would be facing the heartbreaking view just like the living room and it will have a spacious terrace to the south which would be partially covered by the roof. There would be flower chests along the entire length of the terrace and there would be masses of cascading geranium all summer long. This terrace is the place worthy of a rocking chair where a purring cat would sit (or I will eventually sing a lullaby to my child in the future).

If to this dream (which sounds quite sociopathic when I think about it) we add a few more bedrooms on the second floor and a living room fit for about 10 people on the first one, as well as a storage room for all the climbing gear, skis, bikes, etc., we will end up with the dream home of my partner. In my dream, these objects are under a shed in the yard where there is also space for a car but I don’t think a guest bedroom is a necessity. The yard is big enough for a hut 🙂 and if it is too cold, the sofa in front of the fireplace is an extendible one.
Of course this dream home is fit for 3 at the most and this is while the third one is still very young. IF the little ones turn out to be more, there would be another dream home but this is not a problem: just give us room to dream!

Thank you for your patience in getting to know my dream home. You can find a bag full of those at: http://blog.indesign-bg.com

And now I will also get started reading them since I have been dying to for a long time… 🙂
